Death of my Frienime

My friend/enemy (frienime) died today. She's been with me every morning with the good news OR the bad news. Lately we've been going in circles, not really getting anywhere but still, every morning we have our visit FIRST THING in the day.

I've had this frienime for a number of years, we were introduced by our good friend, Costco. I had been neglecting her pretty badly until September 10th of last year. That's the day we renewed our friendship and we've been daily acquaintances ever since. She's always been there when I needed her. She always told me the truth whether I wanted to hear it or not. Sure, I'll admit that lately there's been some tension between us as the 'not' has been more frequent that the 'yahoo'!

Still, she and I made a commitment and I really expected her to be with me through the entire journey I'm on right now. Instead, she chooses today to up and die. DIE! I'm mad at her. She can't be replaced. No one else will come up with the exact numbers she does. My hubs was a little worried about my obsession with her but I said it was normal- normal for us (and by us I mean ME) to say mean things when she upsets me and cheer when she gives me what I want.

I did replace her today because I had to by tomorrow morning but I DON'T like my new frienime. Sure, she's a lot prettier and younger but she WEIGHS ME HEAVIER!

Now I have to feel like I'm losing the same couple of pounds over again when I never had the fun of gaining them. Dog dang SCALE! Thanks Taylor Weight and Body Fat scale for all the good and bad times- though I REALLY prefer the good ones.

Since you've left me, I'll never know for sure just how much weight I've lost but I suppose so long as your replacement works efficiently, I'll just have to live with it. You know, my new frienime would have gotten A LOT more love if she weighed me lighter than Taylor did. Maybe vanity sizing will come to scales? Until then, I'm just going to have to keep on working until I get back to where I was when Taylor was part of my life. Sigh. Besides, she has a much cuter name than my new frienime, Health-O-Meter!

I finally guessed before I got to the bottom.

I have the same scale! Got it about 3 years ago...does it really weigh you heavier? Does that mean the skirt I wore today that I haven't been able to get into for 4 years until now, but still weigh 6 lbs more - is that why? Dang it! I thought it was just because I was more buff and toned!!
:~D

Oh those scales. That was a clever post Cynthia. But I think they are all are frienimes.

You are too funny. You had me going at first; thinking an actual human friend had died! My scale has never been a friend...it's been a complete enemy; thus we rarely speak in the mornings and never at night. :) I hope this new scale because the friend you wanted and deserve! :)

Mine is just an enemy...actually since I am the one that keeps steping up there with my big ol' butt maybe I am the enemy.

Quite entertaining. Mine is a Weigh Watchers scale. She is pretty but too honest. She also can't make up her mind. If I have her on the bathroom rug she lets me think I am 10 lbs lighter than when I keep her on the cold hard floor.

That's it then Amy- I need to get a rug! HA! Problem solved!

That's too funny. Mine is my Wii Fit board. And it insults me by showing me a lot fatter than I really am. Darn BMI. It's a big lie.

Took me a while to know who/what you were talking about, then I had a good chuckle :-)

In the past I have weighed daily, but I don't currently have a scale at home and I have been weighing weekly at TOPS...very scary to go in without an idea of what I lost or gained.

Funny! You had me hooked trying to figure out who/what your frienime was. I agree, Taylor was a much better name.

Scale? Huh, what's that? lol, I refuse to keep one in my house. I prefer to go on how I "feel"or if my clothes fit better. Not very scientific, but easier on the self esteem. I really have no idea how much I weigh.

You got the wrong kind of scale. My new weight watcher scale weighed my lighter. Ha Ha. What I hate is when you go to the Dr. and they weigh you 500 lbs. heavier.

What's up with that?
